The emergent literacy leadership network will focus on the implementation of effective literacy practices in a preschool setting. This process will include identifying strategies for teaching print knowledge, phonological awareness, and oral language, prioritizing and organizing instructional materials based on data, and planning support for teachers completing professional development in the science of reading. The Ohio's Ready School Guide for Language and Literacy will be used throughout the network to guide the discussion and measure progress. Session one will focus on effective literacy practices in preschool.
Sessions are recommended for preschool directors, instructional coaches working at the preschool level and early care and education program administrators.
