School district data requires similar planning and management principles as adopting a curriculum, learning a new instructional strategy, or coordinating the Ohio State Tests. Springfield has identified fifteen types of data that are typically generated throughout the school year:
- Assessment
- Attendance
- Course
- Discipline
- EMIS
- English Learner
- Enrollment
- Financial
- Gifted
- Graduation
- McKinney-Vento
- Program/Membership
- Section 504
- Special Education
- Staff
Adopting a data governance model to ensure this data is gathered, monitored, and submitted with efficiency and accuracy is a practice that all school districts should consider implementing. We will share Springfield's story from the inception of our data governance model and where we are on this journey.
Suggested Audience: Superintendents, District Administrators, & EMIS Coordinators
